| “John’s Gospel of Jesus” Cont’d. “As the Father Sent Me, Evan so, Send I you.” John 20:21 “Equipping The Saints” Part Two Lesson Four “God, who at various times and in many ways spoke in “time past” to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom He made the worlds: who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent Name than they,” Hebrews 1:1-4. The Lord Jesus was never an angel! He was their Creator. God never said to any angel … “I have begotten you, you are My Son.” CHILDREN, BY WHAT NAME? The “last days” remember, began with the first appearing of the Lord Jesus Messiah, who came to fulfill all that the prophets have spoken. Yahweh God, the Father, is speaking to us today through His Son! And, “There is no other Name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (including natural Israel), and there is no other Name by which people may and can be healed,” Acts 4:7- 12. “Every soul,” said Moses, “who will not hear this Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people,” Acts 3:22-23. Remember to ask yourself this question, “By What Name? and hold His Name Sacred in your heart.” JOHN’S GOSPEL John 1:11 “He came to His own (His own people, the Jews), and His own did not receive Him. 12) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the ‘authority’ to become children of God (includes WALKING IN SONSHIP), to those who believe in His name: 13) who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God!” Just think about this statement, “Born of God, God is my Father!” Note: V. 13 The New Birth does not come by being a physical descendant of, human effort, or human will, but by the power (Spirit) of God, it’s “supernatural!” The Word Authority,” V. 12 exousia; Strong’s # 1849: One of four power words 2 (dunamis, exousia, ischus, and kratos), exousia means the authority or right to act, ability, privilege, capacity, delegated authority. Yeshua had the exousia to forgive sin, heal sicknesses, and cast out devils. Exousia is the right to use dunamis “might.” Jesus gave His followers exousia to preach, teach, heal, and deliver, and that authority has never been rescinded Jn 14:12. The exousia power was resident in Yeshua, and is resident in His Name by faith. It is granted to His chosen people who have the Spirit of prophecy, which is, the testimony of Jesus Christ! It is resident by the Holy Spirit in the believer! 1. The Word Delegate” means: v. commission, appoint, name, ordain, invest, enlist, employ, empower. n. agent, caretaker, diplomat, ambassador, representative, consul, envoy, messenger, etc.; (must be granted by Yeshua) Interpreter, demonstrator, mouthpiece, oracle, spokesman and mediator. See Luke 10:13-24. 2. “The Word Name,” onoma; Strong’s # 3686: Compare “anonymous,” “synonym,” “onomatology.” In general, the word signifies the name or term by which a person or thing is called Mt 10: 2; Mk 3:16; Lk 1:63. However, it was quite common both in Hebrew and Hellenistic Greek to use onoma for all that the name implies, such as rank or authority Mt 7:22; John 14:13; Acts 3:6 4:7, character Lk 1:49; 11:2; Acts 26:9, reputation Mk 6:14; Lk 9:37. Occasionally, onoma is synonymous for an individual, a person Acts 1:15; Rev 3:4; 11:13. SFB: Spirit Filled Bible. The Name of Yeshua, Jesus carries authority with power. We must hold the Messiah sacred in our hearts and not misuse or slander His Name, either by the way we live, or by the words that we speak! Remember, whose we are and represent! THE SHEPHERD AND HIS SHEEP “FEAR NOT, LITTLE FLOCK, FOR IT IS YOUR FATHER’S GOOD WILL TO GIVE YOU THE KINGDOM,” John 10 This includes the Kingdom’s keys! Judgment at the House of God! God is and has always judged His people who mock Him and teach what He has not spoken. Those who turn from the Living God to do their own thing, Judgment begins with us…not with the world; the Lord is saying to us repent, be pruned, or else, so that we are not condemned in God’s wrath upon the world: “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; “whose house we are,” and if it begins with us first, what will be 3 the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now, if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?” Please read all of 1 Peter 4:1-seq. Today in the Christian walk, we have very few true evangelists, that is, who do the work of an evangelist. The Apostle Paul told Timothy, “to do the work of an Evangelist,” eventhough, his office was not the office of an evangelist. Pastors, today, are having to evangelize as well as teach. However, the tragic thing that is missing is: “No miracles, no signs and wonders are being worked in His authoritative Name.” We want to preach the message of the Kingdom of Messiah, to a world deeply infested with the wages of sin and death…but, we do not use the very method Jesus told us to use; that strategy, which bears witness to what we are preaching, that which the Lord Himself used. Stephen and Phillip were evangelists, among others! We are not using the Word of God, the two edged Sword, as the weapon of our warfare against sickness, disease, demonic spirits, speaking oracles from our lips releasing or loosing every stronghold over people and situations held by enemy forces. Remember the Sword cuts both ways, negative and positive! Not only in today’s Christian services do we find worldly methods presenting the Gospel, but, throughout past centuries do we find this error. The Lord Jesus wants us to do the works of His Kingdom with the finger of God and stop grieving the Holy Spirit…”For He it is, who works the works of God and bears witness to the Truth!” Begin to release the Holy Spirit simply by speaking forth. In prayer ask the Anointing to fall, to come upon the people and loose the healing spirit. “The Lord is present to heal.” Forbid the activity of Satan’s spirits to work their works, close the door of his entrance by using the almighty name of Jesus praying in the Spirit also. THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE JOHN 8:31--47 Just what does that mean? In context: Jesus speaking to the Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed! And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” The Jews answered Him in their carnal thinking, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can you say, ‘You will be made free?’ Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide (live) in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes (sets) you free, you shall be free indeed.” We, “are sent just as the Father sent His Son, Jesus!” What are we set free of? We are set free from being slaves of sin? How? by being born of God, becoming a son or daughter, and living (abiding) in His Word, which is the Spirit of Truth. “Therefore, if the Son sets you free (of sin), you shall be free indeed,” John 8:31-36. We are set free from being slave-children of Satan conformed 4 to his image and likeness! What are we saying here, that we are Satan’s Seed? Yes, unless we are born-again of God! Jesus replied, “I know you are Abraham’s Descendants, but you seek to kill Me,” why? “because My word has no place in you.” O, listen Children, to these words, “I speak what I have seen (heard) with My Father, And you do what you have seen (heard) with your father.” If we are acting like the Devil, talking like the Devil, then, we are still being controlled by him; and the Father chastises every son and daughter He receives. So if you don’t want to be spanked over and over again, start obeying and living His word, For He speaks to us as sons (children): “My son, do not despise the chastening (discipline) of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves, He disciplines, And scourges every son whom He receives; If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; For what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without discipline of which all have become partakers, Then you are illegitimate and not sons (bastards)…shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?” Hebrews 12:4-9. For the Father “prunes” every branch in Christ so that it bears more fruit; otherwise it whethers away and is burned! John 15. The first generation of Israel that crossed the Red Sea, never learned this lesson of obedience to the commandments of Yahweh God. They went around and around the mountain in the desert for 40 years, which desert they could have crossed in about eleven days, because of their complaining and disobedience. Only Joshua and Caleb, “because they believed what God said,” from the first generation crossed over Jordan with the new generation, into the promised land; all the others died in the wilderness, going around and around the mountain; they never learned the discipline of the Lord! So let us not harden our hearts against the Voice of the Holy Spirit and grieve the One whose presence in our body guarantees our Salvation. JOHN 8:41: Jesus said, “You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication (bastards); we have one Father…God!” “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? because you are not able to listen to My words. You are of your father the Devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the 5 beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks, he is lying, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it (of lies). But because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell you the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because You are not of God.” You must be of God, then, in order to hear His words. Children, if we honor ourselves, our honor is nothing! If the “world” honors us… then, surely our honor is nothing, but, if the Father honors us, that honor should result in the same honor of glory the Father honored His Son! Jesus said, “I do not seek My own glory…If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.” If we are seeking God, for the sole purpose of bringing honor and glory to His name and His word, then, can we expect His glory to be manifested by the Spirit and His angelic spirits! We are being transformed into His image, don’t you see? He is the pattern Son! “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is still day, the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I Am the light of the world,” John 9:4-5. Do you know why the works of God are not being worked? It is because we are not working them, why? because of our unbelief! It is easier to perform carnal methods and arrange carnal activities than to work the works of the Kingdom of God…producing the proof that Jesus is who He claims to be! The Lord Jesus said, “You are the light of the world!” The Lord would be defeating the Enemy soon upon the cross and raising-up through the heavens to the right hand of God, being made the Heir of His Father. He has poured-out His power and delegated His authority, by the same Holy Spirit, to His disciples, just as His Father delegated to Him, without measure. “The works that I do, shall you do also, and greater works than these shall you do,” why? “because, I go to My Father. And whatever you shall ask (command, as pertaining to the works, He, Jesus, speaking about in the context of the “works that I do), I will do!” So you see, it is not you, doing the works, but Him, through you. “For we carry this Treasure in earthen vessels, so then, the ability (to do what He has told us to do, whatever it is), may be of Him and that not of ourselves;” John 14:12; 2 Corinthians 4:7. “Ask of Me, and I will give you the heathen for Your inheritance.” WE LOVE YOU!
